John Weigand is a Vice
President and partner in SAFERjett. Mr. Weigand has been with SAFERjett since
2002. He is responsible for business development, customer relations and
operational oversight of training services and products. Mr. Weigand is also
responsible for the consulting and collaborative effort at Alliance Field, TX,
that will eventually result in an Aviation Center of Excellence for VLJ's.
Mr. Weigand graduated from the US
Air Force Academy in 1984 with a BS in Civil Engineering.
Following graduation he attended Undergraduate Pilot Training in
Phoenix,
AZ. Mr. Weigand
remained in
Arizona for 3 years as an
instructor pilot in the T-38, where he amassed over 1500 hours and was a
standardization and evaluation pilot. Mr. Weigand then flew the F-15 for 4 years
with assignments in
Keflavik, IC and Langley AFB, VA.
He was flight lead and instructor qualified with nearly 1000 hours in the
aircraft. Mr. Weigand was deployed worldwide in the F-15 and has experience in
numerous NATO and middle eastern countries.
Mr. Weigand separated from active
duty in late 1992. He was immediately hired by a major air
carrier and has flown the B737, B757 and B767. From 1996-99
he was an instructor pilot in the B757/767 aircraft and was instrumental in the
testing and subsequent FAA approval of the Advanced Qualification Program (AQP)
for his fleet. He has been a B737 standardization and evaluation captain, FAA
Air Program Designee (APD) and Line Check Airman (LCA). John has
over 10,000 flying hours and remains an active member of the USAF
reserves. He currently holds the rank of Colonel and serves
as the Reserve Forces Advisor for the Director of Operations, HQ NORAD in
Colorado Springs. |
